PROJECT SMART FIELD TRIPS

Project Smart students and staff took a trip to the Exotic Zoo where they socialize and hand fed animals in a Safari adventure. The professional tour guides shared amazing facts and educational information about how zoo extends and preserves their way of life by allowing them to thrive and multiply without the threat of the wild.

After that, students and staff traveled to the Science Mill in Johnson City where the students were exposed to STEM activities.  Some of the upper grade students built a rece car and watched it race on an electric track. Students were engaged in an array of science topics such as the Mind Ball, Cell Phone Disco, Create an Explosion, Sail Boat and race track while the younger students enjoyed digging for fossils.

Students and staff also attended the Toyota Plant Facility and learned about the vehicle production that takes place at the plant in San Antonio.

Finally, they visited the San Jose Mission where they learned about Texas History and the way of life at the mission from farming to the religious values the indigenour people held.
