Special Olympics Team Wins Big
May 06, 2008
On April 17, 2008 the La Pryor Special Olympics team traveled to Uvalde to take part in the Special Olympics Games. We had a great time. This was the first time La Pryor has participated in this event.
Every thing went smooth and our team brought home a total of 10 medals. Raquel Hernandez placed 1st in the 50meter walk and 3rd in the softball throw. Rebecca Boxwell placed 3rd in the 100meter walk and 2nd in the softball throw. Patricia Pargas placed 3rd in the 50meter dash and 1st in the standing long jump. Felix Hernandez placed 2nd in the 50meter dash and 1st in the standing long jump. Juan Uballe placed 1st in the 10meter wheelchair race and 2nd in the tennis ball throw.
We were honored to have Larissa Martinez from La Pryor Head Start on our team. She received a 1st place ribbon and a Special Olympics T-Shirt for the 10meter walk.
We are all very proud of our team and we are looking forward to next year.
