Mr. Joe M. Ximenez named Superintendent Lone Finalist

Mr. Joe M. Ximenez was named Lone Finalist for Superintendent of La Pryor Independent School District by the Board of Trustees at a Special Board meeting on June 8, 2009.

 

“I’m honored and excited to have been selected as the leader for La Pryor Independent School District,” said Mr. Ximenez.

 

Mr. Ximenez has worked in the education field for 10 years and in addition has worked with other organizations involving youth and parents for over 14 years. He began working as a teacher for Somerset in 1999. The majority of his tenure in education has been spent at Kenedy Independent School District. While at Kenedy ISD, Mr. Ximenez worked as a teacher, coach, special education coordinator, Title programs, principal and most recently as Chief Academic Officer.

 

As Chief Academic Officer, Mr. Ximenez helped guide Kenedy ISD in curriculum and instruction, administrative leadership, parental involvement, attendance and special programs. Mr. Ximenez was an instrumental leader in the district’s long-range plans in instructional programs and high school redesign and restructuring efforts that helped the high school increase student performance.

 

Mr. Ximenez is a life-long resident of Floresville, Texas. He graduated from Floresville High School. Mr. Ximenez earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology for University of Texas at San Antonio in 1992, followed by his Master of Science degree from Walden University in Educational Leadership in 2006. Mr. Ximenez is currently a doctoral candidate in Administrative Leadership for Teaching and Learning also at Walden University.

 

“As the Superintendent, I will continue to carry out the goals that the Board of Trustees has established for La Pryor Independent School District”. I will focus on helping the district to continue building a community of excellence,” Mr. Ximenez said.
