BULLDOGS ROLL OVER CHARLOTTE
La Pryor claims 34-0 victory
September 07, 2009
After getting their first game against Bruni cancelled by lightning just before the first half ended, the La Pryor Bulldogs were anxious to get back on the football field for another chance for their first victory of the 2009 season. And they didn't wait long to get the scoring underway. With just over three minutes gone in the game, Israel Medina hit David Castillo with an eight yard pass to get on the scoreboard. Frank Soria added the extra point to give the Bulldogs a 7-0 lead. Andrew Najera then scored from 3 yards out with 2:58 remaining in the quarter. Soria again was good and the Bulldogs took a 14-0 lead. Sage Granado got in the scoring column with a 25 yard run in the second quarter followed by another Soria kick and La Pryor took a 21-0 lead into the intermission. Granado took the second half kick off and raced down the left sideline for 76 yards and gave the Bulldogs a 27-0 lead. The point after was wide right. Andrew Najera added the final tally of the night for La Pryor on a 19 yard run with 4:22 left in the third quarter. The Bulldog defense stood firm all night. The Bulldog defense only allowed the Trojans a total of 115 yards on the night. Leading the defense were Arturo Perez, Joe Guzman, and Jovan Balderas.
Next Friday is Parents Night for the Bulldogs. The parents of the athletes, cheerleaders, and band members will be recognized before the game against Natalia. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m
