La Pryor ISD and Its Campus’ Deemed Academically Acceptable
La Pryor ISD, La Pryor Elementary and La Pryor Secondary have been deemed Academically Acceptable by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). According to the article released by TEA on Aug. 1, 2008, 66.6% of districts in the state and 43% of campuses received a state accountability rating as Academically Acceptable. To earn this rating, a school or district must have 70% or higher passing rate on the English language arts or reading TAKS, 65% or higher passing rate on the writing and social studies TAKS, 50% or higher passing rate on the mathematics TAKS; and 45% or high passing rate on the science TAKS. Bulldogs Battle Rocksprings
Regular Season Begins Friday, Aug. 29th
The La Pryor Bulldogs held their second intra-squad football scrimmage against the Rocksprings Angoras on Friday evening. The Bulldogs scored twice and held the Angoras scoreless in the controlled 2 quarter scrimmage. Israel Medina hit Arturo Perez on the first play of the night for a 70 yard scoring pass. Medina kicked the extra point. With just over a minute left in the scrimmage, Medina found Jesus Velasquez wide open for an 85 yard scoring toss.
