                                                                 WELCOME TO MY WEBPAGE

smiley My name is Elva Rangel. I am a native resident of La Pryor, and a graduate of LPISD. Most of my experience in the classroom has been in the LP Elementary campus, with a few years in Crystal City, as a Bilingual teacher, then in Uvalde CISD as a librarian for two campuses.  I retired in 2010 with 30+ years in the educational field and returned back to my hometown district as a substitute during that same year. My passion to continue teaching young minds has been my motivation for going back into the teaching field. I discovered a new & exciting teaching adventure this year, teaching in the secondary campus. The challenges are great, but the learning that is taking place is very rewarding for everyone involved.

                          CREDENTIALS

I am a graduate of Southwest Texas Junior College earning an Associates degree went on to Sul Ross State University, earned a  Bachelors degree in Education with a minor in English.  I continued working for my Bilingual / ESL endorsement  and received that at the same time. My love for literature of all genres and the need for a librarian in this district, motivated me to go back to college at Lady of the Lake University, and there I received my Masters in Learning Resource K-12 Librarian. This year, as a certified teacher,  I took the HS Spanish classes under my wing, using my Bilingual/ESL endorsements to teach Spanish classes. It has been an awesome year!

                                                                            heart my students!
